Lefty Guitar Help
The other guitarist in my band is a lefty. He has been gigging with an Epi Les Paul for years... if that thing was a car it would have 200,000 miles on it. Right now it's the only electric guitar he owns and it's starting to fall apart on him. And when I say falling apart... I mean... he currently has a piece of a pen keeping his bridge together.
He is looking to get a semi-hollow style guitar... and he knows he is probably going to have to special order something. He's a big Phish fan and he loves that Trey-ish ts/compressor lead sound. We are a wide ranging bar rock cover band so he needs something versatile... something that can go from big cleans to thick crunch to singing leads. He says a 335 is too big... and he's not sure a tele is what he's looking for. I can give him all the guitar advice in the world... but it doesn't really matter... because it's hard for him to find anything in a left-handed model that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. So lefties... I'm looking for suggestions for him... any help is appreciated....

heritage 535
Ibanez artist - I have an older one -actually I think it is an artstar not sure of the model. I have played some epiphones that were nice - 335 style - played great and were 450-550 I believe. you should be able to find a fair amount of lefty guitars to try where you are...I'm down here in south carolina and the pickings are slim indeed. good luck from a fellow lefty. cheers, Aram

Rondo:
http://www.rondomusic.com/electricguitarleft.html I personally prefer the Korean-made Agile models. This one might fit the bill: http://www.rondomusic.com/harm1minifgleft.html or this humbucker version: http://www.rondomusic.com/harm3blkleft.html I've had a few of the LP copies and they are nice. This same factory made the Korean Epis just prior to the plant moving to China. There's a no-questions-asked return policy. You do have to cover the shipping unless it's a QC or damage issue. |

I'm a lefty and I'd recommend a G&L Asat. Their tribute series (Made in Indonesia?) is pretty affordable and they play and sound great. They look like a tele but they're really a different animal. Finish options are limited in lefty but beggars can't be choosers.
Reverend also has a number of lefty options so that might be worth considering also (I've never played one I just know they're available). |

Check in at Leftyfrets.net and pose the question. Jerry's Lefty Guitars, one of the patrons, carries several semi-hollow models.

A G&L ASAT Bluesboy semi is the ticket ....
