Stomp Under Foot -Civil War Muff Fuzz Review
![]() I'm in a hurry so excuse the brevity ... Service:This was my second purchase from SUF so I knew what to expect from a service standpoint. After an e-mail request, Matt put the pedal together in less than 24 hours, and it was shipped to me on the third day. Another smooth and professional transaction from a "buyer friendly" pedal builder. Build and Paint: As you can see above, this is a very cool looking pedal. Matt recently changed the paint schematic which resembles the original Civil War Big Muff colors of grey and blue. I don't have to look inside to know the wiring is clean and tight. Sound: For starters, this pedal is astonishingly quiet, especially considering the amount of gain on tap. The VRH clone I bought from SUF was quiet but this one generates even less noise. Big plus. As for tone, this is what I want in a muff. The VRH sound was close but I needed a smoother fuzz. The CWM is just as advertised; it's velvety smooth yet bassy. It sounds good at bedroom levels as well. I'm playing a strat through a 5 watt tube amp and it sounds beautifully. |

Did you end up selling the VRH?

Yes, I sold it but may very well buy another one. This guy builds amazing pedals.
