Duran Duran: a view to a kill

this is the weirdest song ever written. Theres just something horribly wrong with it. Its always on the radio so somebody likes it. I think either the song is so well written that its over my head or it is as bad as I think it is.

wtf is wrong with the song. I couldn't write something so complicated and just weird/.

Well, it WAS a Bond movie theme song. It's actually a little less "weird" than many of them have been.

I dont picture Bond listening to Duran Duran. Maybe smoove jazz or led zeppelin

I like the song. I don't know about it being played on the radio all the time, unless you constantly listen to a retro 80s station. I would say that pedriod of Duran Duran was just right to do a James Bond theme.

Part of it's weirdness could be because it was co-written with John Barry, who did most of the bond music, including writing-cowriting lots of the theme songs and scores, up through living daylights. I mean that as a compliment by the way, because i love the John Barry bond stuff.

Not a fan, and I never hear it on the radio around here but it's different for Duran Duran being a Bond song as stated.
Now Live and let Die is a killer Bond theme, especially how it pops up in dramatic parts of the movie!

I've always liked Duran Duran and AVTAK. Great 80s synth pop rock. If you think about it, all the Bond movie songs are kinda' weird, but in a good way. McCartney's I can't stand however. Now that's a weird song! When he gave it to them they were like, "is this it?"

the drums sounds like robots spanking

there's an incongruent funk guitar in it

the timing is weird as hell, with breaks outta nowhere..Imagine trying to cover this song...that long pause before the, "dance! into the fire..."

its a weird song Im telling you

I agree, a few years a go, a friend somehow got me to go with her to a show. Ya know, I'm a product of growing up in the 80's, always figured "I" was too cool for them, being into 'serious' music like AC/DC, Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Ozzy etc....like I was ( < rollseyes /> ).

I have to tell ya, I was blown away buy the amount of incredible songs they have AND.....how many of them I actually knew, having NEVER bought an album of theirs...literal soundtrack to that era and beyond...great musicianship coming of the stage....definitely put me back to the books on D2 and showed me that, preconceived perception is 9/10ths the law...ie...I was ate up with the dumbass and wrong.

Oh, and if you're a 40+something male, single, looking for a woman in your age bracket or a younster looking for a couger.....heh.....find their tour schedule.....wow.
