Orange Rockerverb 50 reverb problem ....
This amp has always worked perfectly for me. I sold it and checked everything over before I packed it. The new owner says the reverb isn't working.
It was packed to take a hard drop and be fine, but even so, what could happen to a reverb in shipping? My best guess is maybe a tube got shaken up? I told him to reseat the cables too. Any other ideas?

The weakest link in analog reverbs is the tank. The springs can break, no reverb, the transducers can break, no reverb, the small internal wires can break (at the solder joints), no reverb. The Orange Rockerverbs I've worked on did have some fragile tanks in 'em and that'd be the first place I'd look. As a test, if the new owner has another reverb tank equipped amp, he could plug the Rockerverb into the other amp's tank and see if he got anything then.
Not too difficult a fix for a tech, however. |

Thanks, I suppose a hard drop could destroy a tank. I asked the owner to check the reverb tube first.... I'm hoping that's what it is. Are those tanks standardized? I'll have to look into that. Thanks again.

Standardized? Yes.... but they do vary. I've seen some Accutronics, many Belton and a couple that had no markings on them. The one in your old RV should be marked w/ a code (like 4AB3C1B ) and can be replaced w/ any tank w/ the same codes.
Check out : http://www.accutronicsreverb.com/ the histor and "how it works" links. BTW, looks like Accutronics and Belton are the same folks now... interesting.... |

Most of the time I've just seen one of the springs come loose in shipping. Its a pretty easy fix to open it up and reattach the spring. Easier than a tremolo spring on a Strat even.

Great info, and thanks for the link. I'm still hoping it's only a tube. A loose spring would be the next best case. I'll update later once I find out.

I'm not sure on the 100, mine is a 50. Here is the layout: ![]() I found one of the coils in the tank opened, so I need a new tank on mine! Good luck, I found they are discontinued. There are other tanks that will work with some light modification.

Took it apart. One of the thin electric wires (there are two, green and red) connecting to the spring tank on the inside sheared off. Fixed.
