Afghanistan playing in their first Cricket World Cup...

Might not mean a lot to many people, but it means a lot to me.
To see an Afghanistan cricket team playing in the World Cup is very special.

It's hard to explain.

Just saying.

Yep. I see the good in that too. I'm proud of America and allies.

Their team is pretty good as well.

Saw a doco about this English local cricket team that went over there to play them, the whole local area was very excited about it.

It's a good thing they've got plenty of opium, you need it to sit through a cricket match.

Cricket is the sport of civilisation.

Good luck to the Afghan team.

Yeah, it's surely not as cool as this:

Actually, this is the 20/20 World Cup.
It's a new format for Cricket, each team bats 20 overs and the games over...so it's a very quick game, only lasts a few hours.
Try and catch a game on the TV if you can, it's pretty exciting stuff.

But you're correct, to sit through a 5 day "Test" match requires a love and understanding of the game that's hard to explain....of course a 5 day game can end in a draw.

I was mostly kidding - I have watched some cricket. I just get bored with it on TV. I'd probably enjoy it in person. I feel the same way about baseball.

Mostly I was just looking for an excuse to make a joke about opium.

I've thought it is kinda cool that there is a game you can go watch, get drunk, meet a girl, marry her, sober up, and divorce her- before the game ends.

I've spent many hours, fascinated, watching a mob of very large, very scary looking Samoan cats palying Cricket at the old neighborhood park. I've been observing since I was a little boy......engrossed.

I'm convinced they can beat any team, anywhere in the world, at any level.
