Fender Vibrolux.. modded :( look see Mr. Guru!

Here we have a nice amp.. a buddy of mine owns. Had it for 30 years. Never had anyone look at it or work on it in all the time he's owned. I play it and it sounds sweet till I blew it up 30 minutes later.. cap I'm sure..

So I open it up and lookie what I find from more than 30 years ago..

Wow---- that's something--- but back when these 'mods' were done a BF Fender wasn't the collectable amp that it is today.................gldtp99

I had my '66 Vibrolux Reverb modded almost 20 years ago. It was a "poor man's Twin" back then. I've since returned it to as stock condition as possible.

Pictures are too small, and my eyes too bad, any way to blow them up? Looks like a MV installed, what else?

You can go to the album and click on individual pix and zoom in on them.

MV and a HOLE drilled in back is enough to make my blood boil.. arrgggghhh also they just put the intensity pot in the back and the MV where the intensity pot was.

Put it back to stock and enjoy it.
Best amp fender ever made IMO.
