Not a Fender.
It's a B.C. Rich body with a neck that could possibly be a Fender.
No telling what the quality of the body might be- some low cost Rich models are made of plywood.

I saw that (or a guitar like it) on the Dallas Craigslist. I figured it was a (bad) partscaster, even though the guy says he's had it for 20 years. I moved on.

Katanas were pretty decent guitars . The guitar in the original post is not factory Fender.

Actually, that body looks like a knockoff of a BC Rich. The bottom of that guitar doesn't look right for any BC Rich I can remember. The points aren't spaced right.

Exactly - that's a Hondo II or other Bich knockoff. Not even CLOSE to the BC Rich body.
