Not sure if I could name that exact guitar, but at this point I would say it would be an OM or 000 Mahogany Martin. Just picked up a 000-18ge and I'm liking it more each day.

My 2001 Taylor 310ce. I got it in New York City, and after Manny's and Rudy's had nothing left handed, there was a place in the Village that had two left handed acoustics, my Taylor and a Martin. The Taylor won out.
I have played all my acoustic shows with this guitar in the last 10 years, wrote the majority of my songs on this guitar, have been through some battles with it, but I believe it gives me songs when I need them, there's mojo on it at least for me. I love my Gibson's and playing electric and hard rock and metal. But I always end up doing up acoustic shows and being partnered up with it. It's my workhorse and plays and sounds amazing. Great guitar. I don't really need another one.

If TGP had a "like" button, I'd be clicking it! I came SOOOO close to trading my old D-28 for one of these. Ultimately, I'm glad I didn't but it was a close call.

My Simon & Patrick Woodland Parlor Pro Spruce and Mahogany. Best sounding Parlor I've tried (and there were a few). Pretty loud for such a small body. Can play chords and notes with ease. Besides it was hand made in Canada and better quality then that other company.

David Amirault of John David Scott guitars made this one shown below, and it's a great guitar. Although I'm perfectly happy with it, I'd like to have another made by him to my order with different woods (this one is mahogany/sitka) - consulting with him about the best woods for the best combination of volume and tone (maybe African blackwood, or one of the "small footprint" local woods he uses, and a Sitka or Engelmann top).

Cool Goodall Grand Concert!

Figured I'd pop back in and post pics of the "new ONE", which I'd gladly play for the rest of my life! Things have changed since I posted in this thread, in 2010...

For my 60th birthday present to myself, I commissioned James Goodall to make me this beauty!

Grand Concert, redwood top and figured Honduran mahogany back and sides; all trimmed out in ebony with a pink heart abalone rosette...

This is one amazing little guitar! Only 6 months old and the volume and tone are still "becoming", but already she's louder than my Angus... just a JOY to play! Clear, even tone and volume from string to string; incredibly sensitive to attack, loves to be strummed or fingered...

As much as I love my Mark Angus #35, this one has taken over the top spot in the line-up...

play on......................................>

If money were no object - a Greenfield G1. If I had to go for less doneros - Collings CJ.

From an engineering perspective that's a perfect choice for long term reliability. mahogany is less likely to split than rosewood (even figured mahogany), and redwood will laugh at the humidity that'll make spruce jump up and down like a flea on a hotplate.

From an aesthetic perspective

Is there a cooler modern logo than the wings on Ebony? That was rhetorical. Of course the answer is no
