Just ordered a mark jenny kit and...

Hey everyone. I've been a long time lurker, but need some help. I just placed an order with Mark/Matt Jenny for a bouble bound tele kit. They have been amazing getting back to me and dealing with my many many questions. I now have a question for all of you. I originally wanted to do the tele in Sherwood Green, but now im thinking about Dakota Red. I want very light/mild relicing since I want to wear most of it in myself. I've been trying to find examples on the internet and TGP of these two color combos on double bound teles.

Does anyone have any examples? I have found all the ones on Wildwood, Dave's Guitars, etc.

If you were in my position what color would you go with?

Thanks for the help.

I have a thing about red guitars... I don't typically like em at all.

But....

Dakota Red is by far one of my favorite Fender finishes. I almost impulsively bought a beautiful CS Relic 60s strat in dakota red just because it looked so damn good. The color scheme of a nice deep red like that, creme/parchment pickguard, and a rosewood fingerboard work so perfectly together. Add a little light/med relic'ing (personal taste), and man, you've got one sexy guitar.

Add to this that I'm not a strat guy either, I'm a die hard tele guy!

I say go for the dakota red. I think it'll look sick with the double bound body. Not sure if you're going for a RW board or not, but that gets my vote.

This is very close to dakota red, and should give you a rough idea of what you'd be getting...

dark lake placid blue
black
ice blue metallic
sonic
surf
daphne

dakota red is the only red i like

check out Danocaster's site for some cool pix

Mark does a pretty nice double bound Lake Placid Blue Tele.

Burgundy Mist works nicely also.

Thanks guys. If I could get every Fender color I would. The lake placid blue is amazing. I just think the double bound tele is great looking in almost every color. I talked to Matt Jenny on Friday and I think i'm going to have aztec gold under the Sherwood or Dakota. I am also going with a RW board. I love being able to customize the guitar, but i'm being so indecisive about the color haha.

Matt is great with getting the exact color you want, he got my LPB strat body perfectly greened so it looks like the old LPB strats I saw and played.
