Believe me, the opposite is much worse. I can try expensive amps and cannot buy them.

I hate it when someone else makes an amp sound REALLY good. Than you play it and it sounds awful.

I'll purchase them, but then they get shelved for days/weeks because the wife & kids can't hang with the Big Bottles.

Beautiful day outside, maybe everyone want's to go the park? I'll stay here. Selfish, I know, but give me 3 glorious hours with no one else home.

Which models are you stuck on? What type of music do you play? Maybe someone here can help you decide?

Im stuck between a shiva, shiva Anniversary and Uberschall . I really want to get the Anniversary to get more gain and edge! But I would have to attenuate such a big amp really hard recording at home. Which I don't want to do. The main reason behind the bogner amp hunt is Jerry cantrells tone on the new album. I really love that presence/edge he gets on some of the more riff heavy songs. Im not sure if the shiva EL34 can get me that gain and presence/edge. I know he mixed 6 guitar tracks to get that sound and he did use some orange amps on the album too. So he might of got that edge from them. I have heard the anniversary shiva with the KT88's can be cold/clinical sounding and the kt88's can be hit and miss. The safer beat would be the EL34 Shiva. I know the Uberschall can get me the higher gain sound I want but I have been told on the other hand the clean on the shiva works brilliantly with pedals and is the best el34 clean out there. Something the Uberschall can not do. So I am almost ready to get the Anniversary but still not sure.

help ?!!!

There's really nothing at all that I hate about shopping for amps

I do get a little excited if I miss a great deal though

I personally like the 20th Shiva best out of those 3, the EL 34 version doesn't cover as much ground. The Uber is getting into high gain territory and lacks the cleans of the Shiva.

Yeah unless you go the mod route. Youd be asking either amp to do something it wasnt designed to do. The Shiva wont get Uber and the Uber wont get shiva (without help). Ive allways gone with Id rather have and not need than need and not have when it comes to dropping serious $$$. Pedals cop mid gain tones better then high gain ones IMPO so Id say go Uber and OD the clean channel for that stuff.
