Monitors/PC Speakers

What monitors do people use with their modelers/character series pedals, and for general mixing back?

I don't have a ton of money so I was thinking of getting these -

What do you think? I'm not really an audiophile so except maybe with low end I doubt I'll notice much different on expensive equipment anyway.

They're good for the price range.

Like anything, it's a "you get what you pay for" market - competition in this market is tight, so prices aren't too overblown.

However, it's also a "prey" market no one used to build "cheap" near fields because people wanted them for critical listening. But since the "producer" craze has hit, everyone and their brother has released cheaper and cheaper monitors.

I've heard the KRK Rockit series - which sounds kind of "papery" to me. Most of the other monitors I've heard in this price range don't sound bad, just "small" - and they typically also are very directional (at least in my experience) - you really have to position them right.

But usable for "home project" mixing.
