Which loop pedal is the best bang for your buck?
I'm toying with the idea of getting a devoted loop pedal. Right now I run a EHX SMM w/ Hazarai and the loop function works, no doubt and sounds pretty decent on it. I've got absolutely nothing but love for this pedal. And I've run DL4's in the past and their loop was equally satisfying to me, but neither offer the functionality and little perks of a designated loop pedal. They don't have a function to erase single overdubs and re-record being the main problem. I don't often have use for a loop pedal in a live setting, but for composing and really working out melodic ideas, a loop pedal is great.
The one I've been eyeing most recently is a Boss RC-20XL. I don't mind a looper with a large footprint, so bear that in mind. I've also looked at the Boomerang loopers which are considerably more expensive. If anyone has some good feedback on which loop pedals are worth the money, and which ones you pay twice the price for but don't necessarily get twice the pedal, if you know what I mean, that would be very helpful! Also, as a little unrelated query, I have a Strymon Blue Sky Reverberator and it doesn't want to run off my PP2+ so I have it powered on my board by a One Spot now. Anyone know why it didn't want to run from the Voodoo Labs supply? Thanks! Chad |
