Running other pedals into a Line 6 M9/ M13?

I'm contemplating picking up a M9 or m13 and using it for mostly delays and modulation and then running an OD and Fuzzes into the input of the unit. I've tried this with a Boss Gt10 and a PoD X3 and the dirt pedals never sound as good when run through a traditional effects chain.

Do these fare any better?

I run a tone bone plexitube and zvex fuzz factory in front of the m13, and all those delays, reverbs, and modulation work fine with them.

I've got a Maxon comp, RC booster, BB preamp, Shigemori Ruby premium, Zendrive, Bad Monkey, old Boss Dimension C running into the 13...They all play well together.

I use the m9 with some Ibanez dirt Pedals into an AC30 or a bassman.
They sound excellent. You might even try the M9 overdrives like the tube driver or the L6 drive and feed them with your tubescreamer. I was surprised how well that worked.

I run a Vox Wah, Keeley 4-knob, xotic BB and EP before my M13 and they work just peachy. No difference to my ears then running them before other pedals (which the M13 has totally replaced).

I recently went in the opposite direction: eliminated the few additional pedals I'd been using. I just like throwing the M13 and power supply into a Line 6 bag for gigs and jams and being done with it.

I have a Analogman modded SD-1 in front of my M13 and it works great.

+1 on this! I've been using my M9 alone infront of my Carmen Ghia. The OD"S sound great pushin the Ghia, so the rest stays home for a quick and simple set-up.

my m9 arrives today. I'm wondering if I can put my Violet Ram's Head clone after my M9 so I can boost the VRH with the Chandler Tube Driver module in the M9.

hmm. I'll find out soon.

On my M13, I typically add on dirt pedals within the FX loop. Usually, I'll assign the dirt to be staged after the first FX Unit. That way, I can assign a compressor, boost or wah in front of the dirt pedal. Works very well.

Such a great product.

my setup. nova drive in the fx loop, sounds good to me. although i will note that the old ODs i tried, barber direct, catalinbread silverkiss, mi audio blues pro, definitely did not sound as good in the fx loop than by themselves. but they still sounded great.
