Here Come the Pedal Police: Time to Come Clean!
Ok, so I'm asking is whether anyone is willing to own up to having claimed in ther past that they've owned any pedal they've never actually owned. I haven't, but I sometimes suspect people who claim to have owned e.g 130 different overdrives or delay, but still reckon that their Bastardbox Shitface costing $30 beats them all just might be telling porkies (that's slang for 'lies' BTW).
So come on ... OWN UP. We promise to treat you gently and have a jolly good laugh/sneer at your expense.

Unfortunately, no, I keep trying different OD pedals hoping that someday one will sound as good on a gig as a low watt amp cranked sounds at home. I'm always envious of big time guitarists who tour with multi-amp rigs. I'd love to have a set up like that, including one with a Leslie, but I can barely fit my Bandmaster w/ tremolux sized cab on the stages I play so I'll keep searching for the pedals that offer the best compromise.

hmm. no. odd thread here. is anyone actually concerned enough about how cool it makes them look to lie about pedals they've never actually tried? I'd love to talk about my super awesome original dallas-arbiter fuzz face, except I don't have one, so I won't.

I don't actually even play guitar. I just post on here to make myself feel cool.

I think if they do, it would be to try and make thier opinion seem more valid. I've never done it though.

Maybe the better questions is:
Who has offered an opinion about a pedal that they themselves had never played personally? I think there are a lot of people who repeat what others have said without first hand experience. |

hmm, claiming to own something I don't actually own has never even crossed my mind.

@tastylicks. Yes, that's probably a better question. I'm not bothered about ownership, although it's possible people claim to have owned a pedal they've merely demoed (but, so what?). You're right, claiming to love (or hate) a pedal you've only heard clips of on YouTube (for example) is a greater affront to objective debate (and that's hard enough when so much depends one's personal taste. And so is using spurious facts to support the case for a pedal X you own when answering a 'Pedal X vs Pedal Y' type question (and there are a LOT of those), when in fact you've may only have heard YouTube demos of pedal Y. That's what I was trying to get at. But good call.
