Mr. Kimock in the zone

I love old KVHW and it doesn't get any better than this IMO, especially about 5 minutes in until the end:

Very nice! A lot of the stuff Steve did with KVHW (or KVHH, or KVHWH, or KVHR...) changed the way I approach playing in a such a good way. Can't thank him enough!!!
Thanks for the post.

That was great, thanks for posting. I missed him on his last trip through Moe's Alley in Santa Cruz, I really wanted to go but couldn't.

Loves me some Kimock.

Who needs distortion with a clean tone like that?

I was at this show. As I've said before, Apr '99 was a great month for Kimockians in the Bay area.

Yeah, I was there too. I think Steve also played with Phil and Friends that month when Trey sat in.

Yep. It started with these two shows at the GAMH on the 2nd & 3rd. Then the following weekend was Zero @ Maritime Hall (9th & 10th). Then the next week was Phil & Friends at the Warfield (15th, 16th & 17th). The following week was KVHW & Jazz Is Dead at the Maritime (23rd & 24th), and the following weekend both of those bands were at the Mystic in Petaluma (30th).

Good stuff!

I'd like to see a KVHW reunion. Kimock is now playing with Bobby Vega. Maybe Alan Hertz is available for a fall tour???

I love that Steve is playing with Bobby Vega again. Nothing against any of the other bassists he's played with, but there's just something extra when these two are together. Great chemistry for sure.

Recently downloaded the Kimock + Vega 4-20 show from 19 Broadway in Fairfax. Nice to hear them together again. John Morgan does a nice job drumming.

Good stuff!
I was at that Mystic show--it was KILLER with Jimmy Herring sitting in with KVHW after the JID set. I remember thinking at the time KVHW after Jazz Is Dead???? But suprisingly Jazz IS DEad's set was kinda flat---they didn't go over great. But KVHW was EPIC.
