I know I'll be scolded for mentioning this, but...

Memorial Day is to honor those who have fallen in the line of duty. Veteran's Day is just what you would expect - a tribute to all veterans. It's a distinction worth being aware of.

And I am deeply in debt to all of them.

My grandfather, who I never met, served and died fighting the Nazis. Land of the free, because of the brave.

I think you did it tactfully, people need to know the difference. Speaking of, I think veterans should get this day off. I can't tell you how often I see non-veterans get the day off, and how many veterans do not. My dad included.

After seeing what these men and women have been thru for our freedom, you can't help but get a bit emotional.

From the bottom of my heart and soul THANK YOU to ALL veterans and current enlistees....the sacrifices they've made so we can be here now will always be remembered and appreciated!!!

It's Remembrance Day here in Canada.
My family is significantly smaller due to the First World War. My grandmother on my mothers side lost her 3 brothers and my Father's side of the family lost a couple as well. My grandfather was a runner who would take messages from one battle group to another in the middle of the night. Scary work that nearly killed him. He's long gone now but I think of him and his compatriots all the time. God bless them all.

I served from 83-87, ASW, US Navy. My dad served in Korea as an Army surgeon. My grandfather was in France in WWI at the age of 17 with the Big Red One. He spoke German, and his job was to go over no-man's land every night to listen in on the Germans in their trenches and then to bring back intelligence info. Our family history of service dates to the Revolution.

You're welcome.

(And it does peeve me a bit that (mostly Government) workers who never served a day in their life are enjoying their day off.)
