I don't make a distinction between a) and b).

For quite a while I've been using Moody straps, which are great: simple, high quality, beautiful, and very comfortable. But I recently happened on a small local leather goods shop (Leatherheads, on Bardstown Rd. in Louisville KY) and got talking to the guy there. He does custom guitar straps with a patented design: they are offset some so the strap is farther out on your shoulder (instead of right against your neck) and the guitar weight is distributed better.

Huge difference, especially with something like a Les Paul. You don't realize how much regular straps don't work right (guitar doesn't stay in one position, balance is off, etc) until you use one of these. Gets my vote for best guitar accessory ever.

All I need is a Levy's basic black nylon strap.

I like Moody Leather. Very comfortable, very well made, and the design balances the guitar's weight more efficiently. It makes a Les Paul feel as light as a Strat, and makes a Strat feel like a necklace.

Couch straps. I just wish they were slightly shorter. Otherwise, my favorite.

I agree. I love the Moody straps. Allison knows what she is doing, for sure!

Couch straps! I have six or seven now.....

And, if you ask them, they will make the strap shorter.... one of the benefits of a small company.

These are by far the best straps I have ever had. If you keep an eye on the online store from time to time they will have some blow out prices.

And another. Bob's straps are a and b for me.

And, this is probably the best answer to your question. Take your answer to Joe's question and that will help you identify the best brand for you.
