New (old) guitar - ´78 Iceman

Hi there - just wanted to show off my newest guitar - I got an amazing deal from a buddy on 1978 Ibanez Iceman - great sounding, great playing and great looking guitar. I'm really looking forward to gigging this girl on the summer festival gigs with my rock covers band.

Here she is - the stock pickups (flying fingers/super 80's) sounds very good, but I use a more highgain tone, so I put in a Dimarzio ToneZone/Air Norton combo - great for hard rock, very punchy tone.

Old Ibanez guitars are the best! I take it you bought it to play a lot of Bread tunes on it. Just kidding! Those guitars are tailor made for Kiss and Alice Cooper!

I have always had a huge soft spot for Icemans. I have a couple late 70/early 80s Ibanez guitars and just love them. There is an Iserman (or PS10 ) in my future without a doubt. Congrats.

I badly wanted that guitar back in 1978, but I was afraid I would grow tired of that body shape over time, so I bought an Ibanez PF300 (LP-style) instead. Now I wish I bought the Iceman, but I probably wouldn't play it in public, except ironically.

70's Iceman's are killer guitars guys. I gotta set neck 1977 IC-300 Korina model and she rocks.
