Going to take a look at a 1981 Ibanez AS 100 in the next few days by a luthier friend of mine. Basically it's a es335.
Anyways sunburst finish .... any thoughts on those axe? |

I own a (rare?) AS100 in WN (Walnut) finish since 1989. All I can say it's a great guitar, looking, sounding and playing beautifully. As you said, it's basically a 335, just without the price of a 335. Bernd |

I had an 81 in cherry. Only one of that model I've seen, so take this for what it is - very wide and fat neck, I loved it. Very chimy, clear sound and really good workmanship. It was a sustain/controlled feedback dream. The only thing I disliked was the weight, just short of 10 lbs, which why I eventually sold it

I bet if you play it, you buy it. It's basically the dot-neck version of the AS-200, Scofield's main axe. And a 1981 vintage will be one of the best.

Fantastic guitars. I recently had the chance to pick one up that I had to pass on due to some unforseen circumstances, which I'm really bummed about.
