original Quadraverb vs quadraverb2...difference?

As the title says, what is the difference between the 1st quadraverb and the quadaraverb 2?

Different as night and day in my opinion. The Q2 is clean and "modern" sounding, and the original Quadraverb (as well as the Quadraverb Plus and the fx section of the Quadraverb GT) produce some classic, warm modulation and reverb. I have a couple of the old ones, and I wouldn't trade them for a Q2.

If you want a more hi-fi modern processor the Q2 is a great workhorse. But I like the old ones for guitar. You have to true bypass loop them because they're tone suckers, and they're not really "flat" sounding when the EQ is off or even in bypass mode. But the chorus and reverbs are very guitar friendly.

Thanks ! thats what i figured....just had a gut feeling. i had the original and loved it, but now i'm looking to get another some 10-12 years later and i wasn't sure whether to chance the "2". but i just had a feeling knowing how this usually goes that the original would be better. At least better to us, because i feel the same way about your descriptions. Looks like i will seek out a original. thanks much.

Oh, i forgot to ask....what is the difference as far as effects types? The original if i recall had verb, delay, chorus, and flange. Correct? (been a while)
