Photographing Jeff Beck

I'll be photographing Jeff Beck next week and wanted to know if anyone had any specific photo requests related to Jeff's rig, guitars whatever. Obviously I have no idea what he's going to use but I'll do my best to capture whatever gear he's using. Now, let me make it clear, I'm not hanging out with JB, I'm simply photographing him from the pit for a couple publications. I took some great shots of Slash a few weeks ago and did get to hang with him so that was very cool.

So far it's been all Rhonda Smith for this tour. She really is smokin' hot,
and can play bass quite impressively. Have mercy.

Love to see what is on his pedalboard these days...although he might not want photos taken of it, which is understandable...

Beck's band

I think...the lineup for the current tour is Jason Rebello, Narada Michael Walden and Rhondo Smith (from Montreal). I'll endeavor to capture guitars, amps, mic setups, pedalboards, whatever I can manage if and when the opportunity presents itself! Sure appreciate the interest!

Make sure you get a shot of Rhonda's heels.
When I saw JB with EC at the Garden this spring, she was playing in these:

If you're gonna be onstage try and get some shots of what is behind his Marshall cabs. I saw him a couple months ago and hung out as long as I could after the show. The roadies pulled out three maybe four more pro juniors/possibly champs that i think were hidden behind the cabs. I'm curious if some of them were being used or were just there for backups. I still find it incredible he's getting that massive live sound with just one Pro Junior being mic'ed. The Marshall was on stand-bye all night when I saw him and it was an outdoor gig. And if you can get a pedal board shot that would be great. I could see a Klon and what looked like a Snarling Dogs wah, but there were a few other pedals. Enjoy the show!!!!

Beck's amps

I caught Clapton and Beck in Montreal in February. According to my resident amp experts Beck played the Belle Centre (12,000 seats) with a 15 Watt Fender jr. His rig that night were two juniors and a Marshall but only one of the Jrs was fired up. I'll do my best to capture all the cool gear shots I can.

A Marshall on 1 or 2 tracks...the whole rest of the new album is a tweed Champ.

I saw him last Friday at Chastain in Atlanta, looked like he played a champ or junior all night. They were sitting on top of a Marshall cab, which was not mic'ed, unless it was from the back. He sounded better than ever, and the songs off his new album are beautiful. The band was also really tight and superb.
