Reinhardt 212 slant cab
OK Reinhardt fans I made up my mind on the MI-6 head and 212 cab, but I don't know what speakers to put in it, I sent bob a email and he said a mix of one of his speakers.
H-LC H-SC M-LC M-SC I have not herd enough speakers to know what to try. Help make a choice. |

I ended up with a Reinhardt Slant 2x12. I think it's a killer cab, but I didn't like the Webers (65's) that were in there. They sounded dull. I think it solely depends on what amp you are using, and I know nothing about Reinhardt amps. Sorry, maybe I should of just kept my keyboard shut.

I have the same amp on order. I'll be running it with a pair of Scumback M75 65 watters when they get here.

My suggestion with the MI-6 would be to choose something more on the bright side rather than the bassy side. Bob's lead cone is awesome sounding. My Reinhardt 2x12 slant cab has one lead cone and one bass cone. The bass cone is great for taming brighter guitars but gets a little muddy sounding with with Les Paul's. If I had it to do over I would have put two lead cones in it. I mostly use Les Paul's... YMMV depending on your guitars.

I'd shoot Bob an email as I'm sure he can guide you with his newer speakers. The speakers I have are the older ones that Weber was making for him. He has a different speaker builder now so I'm not as familiar with the newer models. What kind of guitars are you gonna be running thru the MI-6?

Speaker info from Bob's Site.
1)R65H-LC this speaker is a heavy magnet speaker with the large dust cover. its a 65 watt speaker, and will sound awesome with any amp up to 50 watts. Tonally its similar to an old G12H-30, but with slightly attenuated highs, and more mids. 2)R65H-SC This is the small dust cover version of the H series. It is similar to the Large version, but has a bit more top end sizzle, and a bit less low mid emphasis. Very cool, pre 1970 G12H sound, but with more power handling. 3)R65M-LC this is the medium magnet version. a bit less bottom end punch, and a bit more midrange crunch. Its very similar tonally to the late 70's G12-65, which is one of my all time favorites. 4)R65M-SC This is the small cover version. It will sound and feel much like a good, tight old Greenback, but will handle far more power. Not as loose as an old greenback, its a bit tighter, and more responsive when driven hard. A bit more top end sizzle compared to the Large version

I'll be playing LP for the most part and a Strat, I try to play mostly Classic Rock and blues with some nicer jazzy sounds.
LP 80% and thinking about a LP with P90s |
