Lookin for an amp (or a sound)
I don't know how helpful I'll be, but I'm in a new project and we are recording in just under 3 weeks. It's a dark, dirty, raw rock with some blues and americana influence (think Johnny Cash played a bit faster and with youthful angst). My singer is playing rhythm on a Les Paul (with p90s through a Vox AC30), I'll be playing mostly a Tele with Bare Knuckle pickups (pile drivers), also a strat with BKP trilogy suites. I play Fuchs ODS in one of my bluesy rock projects, and Mesa Boogie for a heavier band I'm in, almost metal. But for this, I'm hoping for some serious attitude and bite. Recently in the studio with another band, i played some Marshalls that were decent, and a fender tonemaster that I thought sounded killer. Any suggestions on something else that might be out there. Just a mean sounding amp with attitude. I'll be doing rhythm and lead. Also, if you can recommend a band or guitarist I could look up for examples. I know it's a lot to ask, but this is all last minute, so I'm trying to do as much as I can. I gig 8 times a week, and work during the day, so a long day at the local music store isn't an option yet. At least until I've narrowed it down.
Oh, and I'm no rich kid either, lol.
Thanks in advance
