Looking for a Compact iPod Solution That Can Drive Speakers and is Relatively Inexp

I'm going to setup something in my shed so we can play music outside in our back yard. I already have a set of outdoor speakers but now I need something to drive them. I could just use my old Kenwood 80x2 receiver and get a set of iPod cables with RCAs at one end but I'd rather get something a little more compact which will charge the iPod at the same time. I know there are various iPod sound stations out there, I have one of the Bose ones, a Sony dreamscape clock dock etc. I've never seen any of these able to drive a set of external speakers however. Is there something like that and if so, anything under $200? The Zvex tube amp would fit the bill sizewise but way too much money. I don't want to spend a small fortune on something that will be in my shed. My cheapest alternative probably will be to put my Kenwood in there (with the plus of having FM/AM radio if needed) but maybe there's some stuff out there I'm missing.

Dock and a Crate Powerblock.

Actually, I've done this. Hooked to a pair of EV Sx80s, the backyard jams.

Hooked to a pair of QSC K10s, the whole neighborhood jams.

My thoughts exactly when I saw the thread title. The PBs pop up all the time on CL and Fleabay for around $100.

For now I'm using my Kenwood stereo receiver, I will keep my eyes out for a used PB although now I'm kinda digging having FM.
