Fantastic playing and sounding guitars! The quality doesn't get any better, plus Michael is a real pleasure to deal with.

I own the Tuttle T seen below and it is an amazing guitar!

I owned a '54 Classic S but I had to sell it to cover closing costs on my home re-fi. (I had sold another guitar but that deal fell through at the last minute and I was forced to put the Tuttle up for sale.) I really regret selling it and I will definitely get another Tuttle S one day.

I also want to check out the Tuttle Carve Top. I'm sure it is also killer!

He has done some setup work for me, and it was incredible. I played one of his guitars and it was very nice. I may buy from him in the future. Easy to work with.

I have a 60s T that is the best feeling and sounding guitar I've ever played. Everything about that guitar is perfect. Worth every penny. There's one of his strats in my future too.

Michael has some great clips on his site.... bestfrets.com. Also, our own Jeff McErlain has several cool clips/pics on his site... jeffmcerlain.com.

Big fan here.

I own three of Michael's guitars and could not be happier with them, or with my customer/builder relationship with Michael.

I posted a review, with pictures of mine here:

tuttle is an incredibly talented, meticulous luthier. i've played 3 of his instruments (a chambered mahogany t, an ash s, and a carve top) and they were all perfectly made and very, very sonically balanced and articulate. he also does absolutely incredible setup and fretwork. i think he's a serious perfectionist which IMO is a very important quality in a luthier. his guitars are definitely among the best made of the vast amount i've come across. hopefully i'll snag one of his guitars sooner than later.

gearitis! i LOVE that t. the matching white headstock is sick. pure class. enjoy!

The best I've played, and that covers just about everything there is.

I had Michael re-fret three guitars as well as do his signature set up on three other guitars before I did the wise thing and had him build me a guitar:

It doesn't get any better.

A while back I bought a parts guitar from a fellow forum member whose first name is Matt. The neck mount, fret work, and setup was done my Michael Tuttle. Just about every big name strat has passed through my hands but they never lasted too long, probably because I have always been a heavy handed tele player. This one is a keeper and has turned into my number 1. Seriously, its that good.

Hey Mike, yeah that one came out great!! glad to hear you like it so much.

Basically I bought good quality parts and Michael turned it into a fantastic guitar. Only reason I sold it was to make room for another:

I actually have another one very similar with a few different tweaks; I found some good parts (although the neck took awhile this time), did a finish, got the callaham hardware and sent it to Michael. He worked his magic on the frets, got everything aligned and snug, etc.

The great thing with Mike T. (IMO) is he does such amazing things with a neck. He not only gets the frets so perfectly level, but he dresses the ends and polishes everything like a jewel, great crown, massages the fingerboard edges...

Then he cuts a MEAN nut. That's part of the mojo. He gets a great piece of bone and just kills at getting the string alignment, spacing, height, polish, etc. When you combine all that with a great set-up it makes a great playing guitar.

To anybody contemplating a Tuttle:
I have not played one of the Tuttle originals yet. But simply based on the guitars he has transformed for me, I would bet the farm that they are outstanding. I had a parts issue with my last build and Michael went out of his way to square things away, and even ended up doing some extra stuff beyond what I paid for. I would be very confident purchasing one of his own builds.

I'm all set with strats, but his set carve top deluxe sure is tempting!!

I've had the pleasure of playing a few Tuttles at Indoor Storm and I'm telling you, these guitars are special. I like them better than my Suhr and Anderson guitars, (and I love those!). You owe it to yourself to check 'em out.
