me: "Are you coming to my gig tonight honey?"...

her: "No, I can hear all those songs on the radio."

Ah well, she's perfect otherwise....

What do your significant others say?!?

pretty smart wife

mine comes to a LOT of my shows, and helps me with the gig promo and band website. she was a bartender at one of the top music niteclubs in south florida for over a decade, so she loves live music.

Gotta type this carefully...

I don't care if she comes to the gig or not.

Seriously, she's not going to hear anything she hasn't already, and if my gig time is her time to do what she wants to do, that's great- we both are in winning situations.

My wife loves coming to my gigs, it's finding babysitting that is the trick. She doesn't like all the music I play per se, but she likes watching me on stage. Ah, the perks of being a guitar player... haha

My wife is extremely supportive of my musical endeavors. But honestly she could care less about coming to gigs.

Mine is very supportive and comes to about half the gigs. Which is nicer than most considering we practice at our house and she's heard the songs 1000 times already. But if it's too far away she stays home, which I'm fine with as somebody has to take care of the animals.

Mine only comes to outdoor gigs where she can go shop and get food and drink while we wait to go on, but at festival gigs, she'll work the merch table.

But she'll NEVER say "I can hear those songs on the radio," because they ain't on the radio and if your wife is saying that, maybe you need to work on your repertoire.

Mine is a vet of gigs........... I only run demos by her now. If she wants to come out she does, never acts the wife and just socializes in the background. Pays attention and offers criticism when asked.

She has excellent musical intuition. She's the first one who'll honestly tell me if something is the sukk. Big fan of good stuff and has seen a lot of major shows.
