Wilkinson VSVG Trem Bar Question

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here but I did some research on bridges and opinions I found on here helped me make a good choice.

I upgraded my strat with a wilkinson VSVG

I had the bridge sent directly to my repair guy and I got it back today and while it sounds amazing, I noticed that the trem bar does not lock into place. It doesn't screw in like a strat bar, or pop and lock like other bridges.

I noticed the arm has a hole on the bottom which makes me think there was a piece missing but my repair guy went through all the parts he received and found nothing.

Is this normal? I mean it is floppy like crazy and it falls out easily. Am I missing something?

Any help would be much appreciated!

On the steel block underneath the bridge is am adjustment screw. If you can push down with the trem arm on, you will see it. Otherwise, remove the springs and you can easily tilt the trem up.

Using the appropriate Allen key, tighten that screw a bit. It basically adjusts how loose or tight the arm is. And whenever you use the trem, just push the arm in and it will stay.

I have a Wilkinson trem.the small hole on the arm has threads on the inside that allow you to screw the bar on.I thought mine had a problem at first too.

How do you guys like your wilinsons? I am getting readto build a strat and thinking of going Wilky, LRS Roller nut and locking tuners.

Wich locking tuners will be the best/easiest to use?
