Inception!!!!!!!!

This is easily the best movie of the year. I would say that Nolan topped Dark Knight already. I highly recommend everyone see this flick!

This really is the first film that has had clips that made me feel like I felt when I saw the first ads for "The Matrix". I don't feel like I've seen anything like this before.

Sure, the city rolling up on itself does have some "Dark City" vibe to it, but I got the sense that I wouldn't feel that way when the scene was played in context.

I'm really looking forward to this one.

I just got back from seeing it and I'm blown away. Nolan really did a superb job. This film establishes him as one of the best film makers out there.

It's an intriguing idea. At least two movies (the first, made for TV) have explored this general idea:

The Lathe of Heaven and The Cell.

I'm also trying to remember the name of the SciFi novel that had therapists entering the mind of a serial killer, with the plot twist that the psychological trait that made people into serial killers was contagious over the direct mind links used by the therapists. I think it's Queen of Angels (Greg Bear) but am not sure.

Looks like an excuse for CGI. Like there is no story just another Avatar.

Never mind topping The Matrix, it has even further to go to top The Thirteenth Floor... you know: the thinking man's Matrix.

Avatar WAS a great movie. My Diner With Andre, Chicago, or Shakesphere in love was not. I'm looking forward to seeing Inception.

I haven't seen the film yet, but you can read this web comic which is supposed to setup the backstory of the film: The Cobol Job. It definately peaked my interest in the film (I'm a big Nolan fan anyway, so I was going to see it regardless).

Actually, for the most part I don't care for films that rely heavily on CGI. I don't think it looks particularly good for the most part. It looks just awful quite a bit of the time.

Still, I remember seeing the previews for "The Matrix" and feeling THAT'S the way you do it if you're going to do it. I enjoyed it because it didn't look like anything I'd ever seen before.

Lots of bad movies do get a free pass these days though.
