57 champ re-issue re-set, owners opinion

I'm considering this amp. What's what after the honeymoon? Clone lovers chime in.

I have one, but I can't really comment to much on the sound as I don't use it much. I will say it sounds better with single coils as HB's slam it real hard. You can do better by far on the price than what is advertised.

I've been using mine a lot. I used it this morning with my Tele with bass, drums, piano and vocals. I just set it on the floor leaned back pointing right at my head and set it on about 7 and then use my guitar volume to control how dirty or clean it is. I like it because I can turn the amp up as much as I want and get all the dirt I need without pedals. Other times I'll use my tweed deluxe, AC-15 or Marshall Class 5, but with those, I have to use pedals for dirt and I've really been enjoying just using a guitar and the Champ without any pedals. There's something about this combination that sometimes trumps all the bells and whistles of using a more powerful amp and dirt and delay pedals.
