Noob question about rats

This may be a dumb question. I am a pedal geek and I have owned more than 20 pedals but I've never had any rat. I need some distortion and a vintage Rat has come in my way. Can anybody show some iconic examples of how a rat sounds like? Songs that have a loud and clear Rat? Thank you very much!

Jonny Greenwood in Radiohead? That's his main dirtbox.

Yeah greenwood uses the SD-1 and Shredmaster

If you want Rat, listen to Foo Fighters. That's where all their dirt comes from.

Bill Frisell's dirt tone in the early 1990s.

Another example is the Foo Fighters, especially the first album.

Jonny Greenwood has used a lot of RAT... It was just mostly during Bends-era Radiohead.
