NASHVILLE: My band's Wednesday night August residency

We're playing every Wednesday night at The End here in Nashville with a different lineup of awesome friends and fellow artists every week. It would be fun to meet some of you TGP people out there! Here's the info straight from our website:

Ladies and Gentlemen, step right up to the first ever Apache Relay Residency, every Wednesday night this August at Nashville’s THE END. Every week we’ll have an exciting new bill of artists playing with us and our set will change every week. Sure we’ll play standards from the Apache songbook every week, but we’ll also be playing brand new songs (like, newer than the “new” songs you’ve already heard,) stuff you haven’t heard from the upcoming record, exciting covers, and new versions of older material (a la 1988!) But fear not, friends, you’ll still be comforted by the warmth of Michael Harris’ beard, the sultry crooning of MFJR, and the dreamy instrumental and fashionable (and vocal?!) stylings of Kellen & Brett. You’re probably asking yourself, “why should I go see an Apache Relay show every Wednesday night in August?” Well, in addition to the cornucopia of musical excitement happening within our own set, here’s a look at the artists we’ll be sharing the stage with, (I feel like Mike O’Malley sending it over to Mo, who’s corresponding by the Agro-Crag…)

-August 4: De Novo Dahl, Among The Oak & Ash
-August 11: Rayland Baxter, ***?????*** super special surprise mystery guest!!!!!!
-August 18: The Honeymoon Thrillers, Kopecky Family Band
-August 25: TBA and Sons of Bill

It’s looking to be a pretty diverse and fascinating month of music. Every week will be different so be sure to catch as much as you can.

One more thing you may be wondering- “what’s this mystery guest thing all about on August 11th? Are the Apache boys just trying to hype up an empty slot on the bill they’re trying to find an artist for?” To answer the second question first, NO, they’re not trying to fill the slot. The artist is already quite confirmed. But who??! Well what fun would a month-long event be without a few surprises? This we can guarantee is quite the HUGE surprise and you would be shamed to miss it. Think about what big amazing cool awesome mesmerizing wonderful beautiful mystery artist would play an Apache show….hmm………….let the guessing begin!

Anyway, we love you all and hope you stay cool and hydrated until August 4th!

Love,
The Apache Relay

Argh! I wish I had seen this earlier, but I just got back from practice. I'll definitely try to make it one of the other Wednesday shows. If you have any interest though, I have a gig at The Rutledge this Saturday with one of my bands. It's like a hard-rock/pop-rock type of thing, so it may not be up your alley, but there are like 9 bands playing, and it'd be cool to meet some TGP'ers, so let me know if you're interested. Again, hopefully I can make it to one of your other Wednesday shows. I'm digging your music.
