M9/M13 U-Vibe - passable for the odd song?

Hi All,

Ho wis the U-Vibe on the M9/M13?

I am looking at using this effect on maybe 2 songs per gig - so I dont fancy spending $200-$400 on a Vibe pedal that won't see much use if I don't have to - I am also not a great fan of large pedalboards - so I can see one of these (probably the M9) could fit the bill for me as it can replace my delay and phaser pedals also so long as it sounds reasonably good

Anyone have experience of the U-vibe on these units?

It really isn't very friendly trying to tweak the dials seems to always miss the mark, I guess it is the model itself...just not all there.
I'll be buying an Aquavibe or a Captain CoconutII if one ever comes available for less than a house payment but I love a good vibe, if I only had to do a couple songs and didn't plan to use one otherwise I suppose I could hold my nose and use the M13.
I will say that the M13 is certainly a great sounding unit overall, no regrets buying it although the AxeFx has sent mine to the not used drawer and even the vibe in the Axe could use a little more 'something'.

While I'm sure a $300 boutique pedal will sound better than the M9/M13, It's certainly good enough for a couple of songs at a gig. Certainly the audience won't give a crap.

That's the whole point of the M9/M13. It's supposed to be practical gigging solution, and that's exactly what it is.

Beats the pants out of bringing two PT Pros loaded with $300 pedals that you're going to use for 30 seconds each night.

While I would agree with this logic for most of the effects in the m13, I didn't really think the univibe or rotary sounds were passable. Just about everything else is but I'd just as soon not use rotary or univibe sounds as use the ones in the m13.

It might work for some, but those sounds aren't all that important to me and the m13 versions are just too underwhelming for me to use.

I get closer to a univibe sound with the phasers on my M9 then the U-vibe model. That's what I use in a pinch.

I agree with this. I love the M-13, but the Univibe is a huge disappointment. Trower is a big influence on my playing, so I love a good Univibe, and try as I might, I can't get anything passable dialed in on the M-13.

I also love U-vibe but can't bring myself to use the one in the M13.

There's a Digitech Hardwire pedal coming that is supposed to have this built-in. I'm praying it'll be good enough.

The U-vibe and rotary are passable. That's the best I can say about them.

Digitech's equivalent sims are a step up. An analog vibe is in a whole other league.

I use the M13 rotary for a couple songs. The band loves it but they never heard the ventilator or a real Leslie. Their opinion would be different if they had.
