I would say the Droid X is a better phone personally that has more potential.

They both are like carrying a huge VCR remote control in your pocket. Love my BB.

Most reviews state the the skinned Motorolla UI isn't as polished as HTC's sense UI, and that the Incredible is quicker because of it. Try them both out and see. The Incredible will be getting an update that will allow it to record 720P video, just like the X as well.

I think they are both good phones. I have an Incredible and it's great. The biggest difference I see, aside from the Sense UI, is the size. If you don't mind a bigger phone and like a slightly bigger screen then the X would work. I like the Inc size as it fits easily in my pocket without being obtrusive.

i have the droid x, i think its so-so. still slow on the web, have to hit buttons on the screen multiple times for it to sense it, and other stuff too. i am going to root it.

If I am not mistaken Motorola locked it down to prevent that...

You can still root it.

Motorola encrypted the bootloader so that you cannot overwrite the recovery or gain access to /boot among other important filesystems to run your own custom kernel and ROM.

I prefer the Incredible. Better UI (Sense), screen is brighter with better colors (Moto looks a little washed out compared to it) and the size is much more comfortable to me. The Moto is too freakin big...
