Cracked the radial head of the radius bone

In my right elbow! Ouch. I cannot suppurate my right arm (palm up). Can't play guitar, floss etc. Plus they tell me I might have ruptured my bicep tendon in the process as well as all the other connective tissue in my elbow.

I tripped over a 2 foot high chain, got both feet hung up and....TIMBER!

I'm not happy, not happy at all.

I did the same thing (minus the tendon, ouch) when I got hit by a car on my bike. I feel for you, but be patient with it. It did change the way I play guitar, although that could be due to the broken scaphoid suffered at the same time. I'm not as fast as I used to be, but still a deadly accurate arpeggiator ;-)>

My wife just did that last month, fallingto the right off her bike after hitting some marbles. They gave her a fiberglas splint and wrapped it tight until she could get in to see the orthoped. He discarded it and gave her some meds and it took 3 weeks to get back to normal. Lot of bruising.

You'll be fine

Yep, My bad I meant Supinate!

verb (used with object)
1.
to turn to a supine position; rotate (the hand or foot) so that the palm or sole is upward.

And by the way, it has been almost a month and my elbow is still all pissed off. It has improved some but they tell me it will be a long road back. Physical therapy helps but it hurts. At least I can spank the plank a little now as long as I am gentle. No funky stuff.

I hope you'll be back in no time, with a renewed appreciation of how lucky you are and
lots of fresh new ideas for your playing ~
In the mean time, OUCH!
Get better soon

"supinate"? "radial head of radial bone"? "connective tissue in my elbow"? "renewed appreciation"?
Don't think I'm needed here... Carry on...
But - of course - get well soon!

OUCH!

My wife also did that earlier this year. She was roller-skating, went for a 360, & went down. HARD!

Even though it was a small fracture, she had to have surgery to put it back together. When she fell, one side of the bone shifted slightly upwards; if they would have let it heal like that, her uneven radial head would have caused further damage down the road.

The surgeon put in 1 screw (thankfully only one!) and after a month of two of phys therapy, she's almost back to normal.

P.S. It's one of the most common types of arm injuries, btw (ever extend your arms out to brace for a fall?)

I totally thought this thread would be about a Radial Tonebone pedal. I was going to suggest it be moved to the appropriate forum.

Anybody else? (I can't be the only one, can I?)
