Any difference between a 15w and 30w Weber alnico blue dog?

Any difference in tone? I will be pairing it up with either a g12h or g12m (probably the h) and will use it with a hot rodded plexi type amp as well as a vox ac15

I've got a 30 watt blue dog in my ac30.

The 30 watt speakers are a bit smoother than the 15 watt versions. If you want lots of crang and early breakup but not much bottom end, the 15 is the way to go. If you want a little more smoothness in the upper mids/treble and a bit more bass with more head room before speaker distortion, the 30 is the way to go. Also the 15 has a higher sensitivity rating so it'll be louder up to the point that it breaks up.

I gigging the weber blue dog with a g12h30 for a couple of months and in my experience the g12h30 was much louder than the blue dog - to the extent that it pretty much drowned it out. I've swapped the g12h30 out so now I've got a 30 watt blue dog and 30 watt silver bell in there, their sensitivity ratings match so I much prefer that.

If you were going to go with a 15watt blue, the g12h might be fine, but if you go with the 30 I'd suggest pairing it with a greenback.

Hi,
If you have not yet done it, i would install the 2011 mod to your hayseed amp, it replaces the old alwood mod.
You can e mail me at vtkamps@aol.com for details.
