Looking for a vintage fender style amp

Who all made amps similar to Fenders in the 60's and 70's?

I'm looking for a combo I can get a good deal on..

IDK, I think Fender made some Fender like amps at that time.

Sorry couldn't help it.

Are you looking for vintage only? How much to spend? How many watts?

I mean it's the opinion of quite a few folks around here including me that think the best deal going on Blackface tone is the Fender Super Champ XD. But maybe your not a digital kind of guy.

Reverb would be nice

Trem isn't really important

Probably around $500 range

Yeah I'm looking for vintage mainly

I'll look into the super champ XD

I just figured there were some more vintage brands

Track down an old ampeg. Although the prices are creeping up and may be a little out of your range. They were sleepers a few years ago. Incredible sounding amps. Hang with a deluxe reverb all day.

Ampeg, Sunn, Traynor, Earth, Peavey, Univox, Gibson....they all made tube amps in that era and many were designed to compete with Fenders.

You could probably find a late 70s Twin in that price range. Possibly a silver faced bassman head or bandmaster. Maybe a 70s Pro Reverb..... I had one a few years back that sounded GREAT, it was the pull boost/70 watt model but still had Fender tone out the wazoo, I got around $500 for it. Later/mid 70s Super Reverbs can be found for around $700, if you really dig around. That's what I'd be looking for.

Don't discount the early 80s Fenders, when they returned to blackface cosmetics for a few years.

I've got an early '60's Gibson GA-5T Skylark (tube tremelo) that's fantastic!

Also check out the early Supro's & the Alamo Model 3.
