BF Fender gut questions

Just sending this to the experts out there, can you tell me whether its a BF or SF Super? It has BF cosmetics, the PT code is 606748, the OT code is 606742 and chassis code is A-27947. Also theres a mod on the normal channel that apparently allows earlier OD with turning the bright switch on, that to my knowledge is easily reversable. Can anyone give me some insight?

Looks like a BF CIRCUIT though possibly not original. The thing that jumps out are the 100K bias feed resistors which are supposed to be 220K (near the center of the 2nd photo). 100Ks would have been more common in a bias "balance" circuit than a true bias circuit. The pot is wired for "true bias" (now). Several electrolytics and two or more coupling caps have been replaced.

Agreed.

The thing I noticed is that all the plate resistors and the two 100k bias feed resistors appear to have been replaced; they are gold band (5%) resistors while silver band (10%) resistors would probably have been original.

and one of the PI input summing resistors (220K) seems to be missing. And the PI cathode resistor looks like a 430K? maybe?

How's it sound <G>?

I don't own it. Its on craigs for 1k, which wouldn't be that bad if its a legit blackface. The serial number is so close to the transistional period its hard to tell if it was just a dripedge with a changed grill and plate or a legit BF.

The chassis stamp looks to be a '68. I'm going with early '68 drip edge that has changed cosmetics.
