How do I get the tone of this song?

Love the tone of the lead guitar. How do I get it? Help me out guys.

I do play a fair bit of strats, Les Pauls - I know it's a Strat - but what amp of pickups will get me a tone like that? Lovely.

The best strat pups are going to be americans. Lace sensors do well also. G & L Commanche is another good pick.
The amp sounds like a Fender tube with a small amount of tube gain applied.
Effects might be a light chorus, reverb and a touch of slapback delay.

In my opinion, I would use a Fender Amp, like a Deluxe Reverb or a Hot Rod series amp with a Stratocaster in the neck position. There is a delay on it, Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay would be good, Some type of mild compressor, Diamond makes a nice one, and lastly, the overdrive I would use would be either a Fulltone Fastboost 3 or an XOTIC effects AC BOOSTER. Hope this helps.

I don't think there is chorus on the lead tone. Definately a stereo chorus on the background guitar. If you like that sound, check out the Strymon OLA pedal.

Not sure I care for Lace pickups. Alot of people here seem to comment on how much they like them, but honestly they sound sterile to me. For a bluesy sound like this vid, I would use the DiMarzio Area 58, Area 58, and DiMazrio Pro 54 in the bridge set up. I have this on 2 of my Strats and my other is a Custom Shop with stock pickups. The stock pickups need to come out next. They don't hold a candle to these Area pickups.

This and a little compression from a Diamond comp or similar clean non-squishy comp.

Just a thicker pickup ... for that, I'd reach for a Texas Special or Fralin Steel Pole. Right now, I have an Area 58, Area 67, Lace Sensor Gold, SCNs ... but would reach for a noise pickup for that tone.

Around 2:30....that tone?
See the MM Luke hanging on the wall?
Use that into a Fender-ish amp, turn it up until it sounds right, stop.

OK - good suggestion so far. Gonna try it out and see. Currently I am having Rocket Fire's Total 60s pickups - so can't really go wrong with that.
