What Chorus Pedal For Me?

Hey everybody. After a lot of searching and reading, I'm still unclear what chorus pedal will fit my needs:

No volume boost (or a level control)
The smaller the better (top mounted jacks a huge plus)
Sounds good with distortion

It would be nice to have a mix control
I'd like to keep the price under $150

I'm currently using a Voodoo Labs Chorus. I like the sound, but the tone and volume boost when using distortion aren't working for me. I'm not a big chorus user, so I'd really like to stick with a small size and affordable price. Thanks for any suggestions.

MXR Chorus pedals are supposed to be good, and those are small footprint. Visual Sounds Liquid Chorus sounds great.

Your VL Chorus is modeled after the Boss CE-1 & CE-2. That's a very specific chorus sound and not all choruses will give you the rolled-off tone I associate with Toto hits like Rosanna and Hold The Line. I had a CE-3, which is sort of metallic. I think one of the 80's Brit New Wave bands used it a lot. I have a TC SCF. That's a 20 to 20KHz device and gives you another different sound. Best thing is to id some songs people know for examples of what you're seeking.

I'm finding that with distortion I can't get the VL Chorus to be as subtle as I'd like. That's why I'm thinking a pedal with a mix control would be ideal. Most audio samples I've listened to online don't use any overdrive or distortion with chorus pedals.
