Smile Vox SSC-33 Gold Top...me LIKE...

Been waiting to see the goldtop version of this guitar. Looks really nice! Now, the stores just need to get one in so I can try it!

I have some Like for the SG style of this, really Like, but I'd have to play before I could love, and they're no where to be found 'cept online.

I thought they had a split switch for each pickup.

I was in our local shop the day the Vox rep was there and had one. It sounded great, the pick ups were the best part IMHO. Although the curved body was pretty impressive.
Cheers,

I want to like the single cut gold, but the proportions and the color seem a bit off to me -- the waist seems a bit too wide and the gold seems a bit too yellow or too orange in every other pic I've seen (although I do like the color of the gold in the Music Radar promo shots above).

This is what I mean (pic from Elderly.com):

I'm only going by pics I've seen 'cause no one around me has them in stock for me to play or see.

I actually like the shape. Yeah, it's supposed to resemble a Les Paul, but it's not a direct copy of the shape. Plus, the gold in that pic looks good to me...

I really like the looks of the bridge and the pickups, but there's something very "Flintstone's" about the body shape.

It looks like they're available for sale on the Elderly web site.
