Granger Amps builds a sweet, handwired JCM800 clone.

Thanks man. Both clips are the same amp. The first one's boosted with a TS9 and is going through a Bogner 4x12 with warehouse vet30's. It sounds even better now than it did when I got it. I took the JJ preamp tubes out and replaced them. Big improvement.

I understand Reinhardt Storm is a JCM 800 "clone" (I hate that word).

Those of us that want an exact replica love the word "clone".

They're built like tanks and will hold value, just get a JCM800

I can see no reason to seek out a JCM800 clone (unless you wanted it tweaked, in which case it wouldn't be a clone). Early JCM800s are built really well and can still be had for reasonable money.

The best I've tried, while not clones, are fortin mods, Friedman mods , Landry LS100, and Splawn.

I agree with the others though, the jcm800s are cheap and reliable.

What if you want a 2204 style amp and don't want a giant chassis and head box? Or maybe you want a platform for modding and don't want to butcher a classic amp.
