Anyone have any experience with Dr. Z Rt. 66?
I have a Fargen mini-plex MkII and have an offer to swap for a Rt. 66. I will be playing it later this afternoon but wanted to see if I could get some feedback from owners.
Thanks in advance. Greg Last edited by gregit; 09-13-2010 at 11:26 AM. |

Great amp, way loud. Beano/Woman tone for days.

My favorite of the Z amps. It is super thick and the tone controls only add more gain after 12:00. It is loud and the overdriven amp tone is glorious. An attenuator is your friend with this amp. If you can take your pedals do it as the 66 takes them extremely well and this is a huge plus IMO. Good luck.

It's fat, it sings, but what i like about it best is the way it lets each individual instrument shine thru...I'm playing tele with mine, but i really love it most with a Strat. With a LP it's just superfat. In the best way possible. If i was a blues guy (i'm not) LP straight into a Route66 would be my rig, without a doubt.
cheers, enjoy
