STRYMON MANIA!!!! Did you ever notice how we move in herds?

Man, all I read and see about is Strymon Strymon Strymon. WTB WTB WTB. Have you ever noticed how we move in waves around here? One day it's Lovepedal, the next Catalinbread, now it's Stryman and all the other stuff goes unsold/untraded.

Plenty of Tims available these days, when before you had to kill to get one. Used to be a Box of Rock or a Fuzz Factory flew out the door if you ever posted one.

Just kind of interesting how it happens. Now some stuff never goes out of favor - Xotic, I guess some Fulltone, old Boss standards, Analogman.

Just curious as to your comments and as to whether you see the same thing I do.

it's funny cause there's lots of analogman, xotic, and fulltone in the emporium too...

That being said I am really stoked with my blue sky and el cap-
PRIMARILY because they don't digitalize the dry signal...not because it's a fad. Ears first

I've probably got a bit of sour grapes going on because I won't spend that kind of moolah on a pedal - did it once with King of Tone and resold it - but I'm just interested to see if we're seeing the Strymon mania in 6 months - or even 2 months

you are 100% right, but the el capitan is the first delay to do a lot of what people have wanted and do it well, hence the obvious hype.
not even going to think about buying one until they come to a reasonable price though

Good luck with that. To me, for what it is $299 is pretty reasonable. In fact I was surprised it wasn't more.

I think the price is well thought when you compare to the TC Replica which is 100$ more !

About the hype, of course it's the best disease of our consumer society ! But some products survive the hype. Take the KOT, it's still one of the best OD pedal out there, even if nobody raves about it anymore. Of course if Mike stopped the production you could imagine what would happen ? especially on this forum

Don't give him any ideas! So I just went on the Strymon site to see what all the fuss is about - and dang! those are pretty cool pedals! But can't you just buy them direct for the $299?

well my EP satisfies, and I'm so sick of dropping that much money on something that I'll eventually be able to get on craigslist. I've seen Tim's and Timmys at VERY reasonable prices on there recently.

unless strymon discontinues... haha a $1000 el capitan
