not even going to think about buying one until they come to a reasonable price though
Yep and make no mistake about it, when the next "greatest" thing comes along you will see them for $200 or less in the emporium.

Hmmmm. Well, I hope the Strymons go out of fashion soon so I can buy every single one on the cheap!

But I won't count on it. They're awesome.

The good thing about the great product at a relatively reasonable price point (and very realistic wait time between production runs) is that hopefully, it will pressure other builders at or above the same price to evolve their products, the info they provide their customers, etc.

FWIW, I had an Ola and HATED it, returned it. Bought an El Cap and I'm really loving it, nothing to do with hype.

As soon as the El Cap hysteria dies down, I predict they promptly release a tremolo. I myself have never owned one of their pedals. I came close to buying a Brigadier when they first came out, but ended up getting something else.

I have only been on TGP for a few years and even in that short period I can predict when pedals will hit the emporium for a reasonable price. Skreddy seems to still hold some value. D*A*M, MP, Skinpimp,Toneczar and others will sit if the price isn't right. I have noticed even really rare skreddy (overpriced) pedals not moving.

TGP is kind of annoying to me in this regard. I honestly believe that TGP single-handedly inflates the market for used boutique guitar effects.

Skreddy's have dropped significantly in the last 6 months. Screwdrivers and Pig Mines went from $250-ish to $170-ish, Echo's down to $310 from $400, etc.

I bought an El Capistan. I tried to not get caught up in the (very apparent) hype, but the clips and feature set convinced me it met my current delay wants. I knew it would be at least 6 months before used ones were significantly cheaper, so I broke my personal rule of not buying anything that is both digital and full price. I'm happy I did - the El Cap will not make you more attractive to the opposite sex or make coffee, but it is a fine sounding, fairly versatile, and musical delay. The integrated spring reverb allowed me to sell my existing reverb pedal for $100 in the Emporium, making more room on my pedalboard to boot; it also has a basic looper.

I found my herd awhile back and I'm still in it (the same one), even though new herds come and go.

You know I should do "The Tone-Seeking Trends of The Gear Page" as a paper for my sociology class I bet you guys would blow my professor's mind

EDIT: Just thought of something. Have any of you ever been PERFECTLY happy with your board/collection and then TGP made you rethink it totally? Because that's happened to me at least 20 times (probably more) since I first came here and while I've lurked for awhile, I'm still relatively new

I buy Strymon because they are an innovative company.

It's one thing to hop on the new od bandwagon, but it's another thing to find a feature-packed reverb pedal or a decent tape simulation.

nrvana8775, exactly! I have an El Cap and a Blue Sky from their most recent batch on the way. And even if they came out with a Tremolo pedal in a few months, I would thoroughly check out the features and sounds to see if it is something that I will have GAS for!

The Gear Page needs a sheeple icon.

No, really. Call me, we'll discuss it.
