I have been informed by my kids that "SG" ...

...stands for "StarGate", not "Solidbody Guitar"







...but they're young.



Picked up a cheap knockoff SG (made by "Tuscany") in a trade, and am enjoying the thin body, light weight and upper fret access.

Haven't played an SG-style guitar since High School!

Just tell them that this was an SG1 long before there was a TV show by that name.

You know...I recall hearing an alternative story that SG stood for Spanish Guitar. I know it makes little sense today, and Solid Guitar makes more sense (although the LP was solid as well), but I wonder if it might have once been true for some reason.

Actually, it stands for "Sassy Gay" guitar. Sorry, but I thought you should know.
