Plexi Tones with Alnico Blue

Anyone tried it? I've got a Cornell Plexi 18/20 I'm thinking of using with blues, so I can use 1 cab for this and my ac15.

Sure! But only together with a Celestion G12H (65 amps cab). It sounds just stellar. I also have the Cornell Plexi 45/50, which is another amazing amp from Denis Cornell. The 45/50 sounds just killer through the 65 amp cab. Strangly though Denis load the matching 45/50 cabinet with Vintage 30 speakers. Never tried the matching cabinet, but I have a Bogner cab with V30, and I somehow find that combination not so nice sounding. Best match in my ears are greenbacks, with the 65 amp cab very close. Here`s a vid of my Metroamp jmp 50 plexi trough the 65 amp cab.

Tried my 45/50 through my Bogner OS212 loaded with vintage 30s and had the same reaction. Wonder if Denis would sell his 2x12 cab unloaded ...

I've been using Celestion Golds with a JTM45 style amp which has a plexiboost which gives me 70s plexi tones and the tones are stellar...amazing sparkle...chime on the cleans with excellent grind on the pushed tones...bass end holds together better than I imagined an alnico would...does need to break in a bit though....

I tried mixing one Gold with a G12H style speaker and preferred two Golds in a 2X12" cab. I may put a 75Hz & 55z ceramic mix in another cab and have both cabs on at the same time...

Chow,
Seegs

I put Scumback H75 speakers in my Cornell 2x12plexi cab. sounds great with my Cornell45/50
I also have a Cornell Legacy + Legacy cab with Scumback Scumnico's and it's fantastic.
With the 45/50 I prefer the H75's over the Scumnico's
