Blackface Reverb question

On my Deluxe reverb reissue, cranking the reverb knob past 4 seems to generate quite a bit of noise. It gradualy gets worse as I crank it up higher. is this normal?

Shouldn't add noise, that's a tube driven reverb on that one right? I'd try changing that tube out, could be an easy fix. Some amps have a tube reverb recovery stage too I believe....

The reverb circuit adds some noise, but not a lot. V3 (12AT7) is the reverb driver, and 1/2 of V4 (12AX7) is the reverb return. If either of these tubes have noise issues, it will show up when using the reverb.

yes it adds noise, you are cranking an amplification stage (reverb). Take the reverb drive tube out & crank it & you still will get noise
