Tremolo Speed Controlled by Expression Pedal?
Apart from the Lightfoot Labs Goatkeeper tremolo, what other tremolo pedals allow you to control their speed with an expression pedal?
(I know the speed of the Cusack Tap-a-Whirl can be ramped up or down by pressing and holding the switch, but that is not quite the same, and I believe it is only one way at a time, either up or down.) If you are wondering why I would want to do this, well, I have a Goatkeeper, and it is pretty cool to be able to back off on the speed during more complex passages, then ramp up the speed during sparser passages. The Goatkeeper, though, is pretty huge and complex. Any thoughts? |

Bump. Would love to hear a trem pedal with this option that isn't as massive as the goatkeeper

The Ronsound might do the trick!
Also, although the Empress Tremolo does not have an expression pedal input, I suppose one could set up the two-speed function for very slow and pretty fast and then toggle between the two. Still, not quite the same as an expression pedal... Any others? |

The Gig-Fx looks really cool! Much better with the expression pedal built in.

Although not exactly highly available the Toneczar Powerglide can have it's trem speed controlled by an expression pedal:
"The Expression pedal jack (when in use) bypasses the Speed 1 knob (yellow LED), allowing full Expression pedal control of slowest to fastest speed. Use the Ramp knob as a damping control for smooth speed changes even with jerky Expression pedal movements. You may still footswitch to your pre-set Speed 2 (green LED) at any time." I didn't ever try it with mine but it's worth a shot!

There is a new version of the Dr. Scientist Tremolessence in the works that I think is supposed to have this. Ryan told me in an email, however, that it may not even be ready by the end of the year. It will also feature more space between the switch and the knobs at the sacrifice of a battery.

Electroharmonix Holy Stain does this as well.
keep in mind that the unit adds reverb as well on the trem setting which annoys most people. oh and its also a fuzz a reverb and a weirdo pitch shift.
