Any vintage Danelectro/Silvertone fans???

I just picked up a cool two lipstick pickup Silvertone guitar, with the amp in case deal. Talk about funky ! haha. It needs some set-up work, and I think I'll have it re-fretted as well. What I was wondering, can you Dano fans post some classic tunes by players who used them? Who is famous for using them? Youtube songs to share? I got mine after seeing Dereck Trucks using one. The one I got looks just like that red one. I would just like to get a little more familiar with the history, and sounds.....for fun. Thanks.

I have the single p/up amp-in-case model. Got a good deal on it a long time ago, but my preference now would be the two p/up version. Also pictured is my Hondo Longhorn, modded with a GFS double lipstick p/up and Fender style bridge strung through the back. These have a solidbody and were built quite nice (late '70s-early '80s?). A late '90s Lyon Retrotone (made by Washburn). The Dano-style bridge is shaped like a "W" for Washburn. I've heard the Retrotone was a lawsuit model, but don't know that for sure.

Jimmy Page is probably the best known Danelectro player. He's been rocking his DC-59 since the Yardbird days.

Randy California of "Spirit" used a Dano on many of the early Spirit albums back in the '60s. Not sure if there's any video of him using it, and I'm not sure which songs he used it on.

Syd Barrett played a Dano in the early Pink Floyd days. He doesn't get face time in this vid until just past the 2 minute mark.

i think they're amazing. for whatever reason, I have a soft spot in my heart for old danos and silvertones. They're pieces of crap, but awesome pieces of crap.....if that makes any sense at all!
