Cirque Du Soleil

I took my family to see Cirque Du Soleil "Ovo" last night. What a quality production! Kudos to the entire CDS team. If you have the chance to go, do it and take your kids, they'll love it.

Been to several shows in Vegas and a few road shows. All fantastic!

Is Ovo a traveling show?

Yes Ovo is a traveling show. It is in DC right now and I think they go to Atlanta next. The performances, the live music, the costumes, everything about the show is first rate!

Yep. Wife and I went years ago when it last visited St. Louis. The music is especially outstanding. And when the live band emerged from a door and took a bow at the end, I was stunned. I thought the music was pre-recorded. The experience was magical.

Ovo didn't get rave reviews here in the Bay Area when it played, compared to some of their other shows, as the critics said it was a bit disjointed and the music was off. Missed that one but definitely going to see Banana Shpeel- the new show- in San Francisco this month.

AARRGGGGGGHHH!!! I just looked and it's been canceled for San Francisco. I wonder what happened.....It's still playing in Toronto.

edit: I just saw that the show was rated one of the worst Cirques and it's being deleted.

The Cirque shows are some of the best entertainment on the planet. Really, the ultimate expression of art. The Vegas shows are great but make sure you sit up close. The good thing about the traveling shows is that they are usually in the round, so everyone has good views and close to the action.

This is my first CDS show so I don't have anything to compare it to, but me and my family thought it was amazing. If the other productions are even better, I can't wait to see more!

I've only seen Cirque Du Soleil once in Vegas, but it was the best live entertainment I've ever seen, bar none, & I've seen hundreds of live "shows".

we saw one in vegas back in 92,, they had two rock bands , one on each side of the huge stage on a balcony type thing,, i remember thinking what a great job that would be to play in a show like that. the acrobatics and stage effects were overwhelming,, best experience i have ever had.

Saw CDS in DisneyWorld in '05. Tix are steep, but worth it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
The live music was excellent; I remember the guitar player was rockin'. CDS now has 13 of these shows worldwide. Amazing.
